I'm really confused......

Okay. I have this friend named Josh and he's really sweet and funny and cute. I think I'm actually starting to love him. I told him and he said he loved me too, but he didn't want to start a relationship. He's 18 and I'm 14. He said he wanted to better himself before he started a relationship. So, do you think he really loves me or just said that to not make me feel like no one cares?

You are only 14, my friend. He is a young adult. I think he loves you, he probably does but you are so young, maybe thats why he doesnt want to start a relationship with you just yet.
He may feel that you need to live a little before you get into a relationship.
Being 18, he is most likely to want someone stable to be with, wanting something more than just someone to spend time with. He may want a physical relationship, and as you know, at 14, you are too young.
I'd say, sit with him and have a talk about how you both really feel and whether it's right for you to feel this way.

Love is a word that is often thrown around these days, but you need to respect his wishes. He may not want to deal with the issues of him beign legal and you being illegal..or other issues. Now, you need to go and ask him what you asked in your post.

I don't think 4 years is that bad. He might care about you, and just doesn't want to hurt you. Give it some time and see what happens. Just remeber there are pleanty of other guys out there.
