bump?

hi its been awhile since ive used the forum, can anyone tell me what bump means?

When a valid topic falls behind on the boards, you simply say "bump" to get it to go to the top again. Like a contest that hasn't been completed, etc.
Er, did that make sense?

p.s. there's been a lot of "bumping" lately due to the spam that has been circulating on all the boards. Spam being these repetitious topics that you can't open... peace :)
