Could someone please thoroughly explain the difference between a democrat and a republican?

One steals from you and lies about it and the looks you in the eye while taking your money.

Why come on a poetry site? Why not look the information up?

I thought the difference between democrats and republicans was that democrats bump up your taxes to fund a bloated bureaucracy, while republicans use a bloated bureaucracy to study your taxes.

Why not come here? A community of intelligent people. Sometimes it's just nice to have stuff explained to you by people you are - at least somewhat - familiar with. Besides, weren't a group of you just discussing this sort of thing in another post? I thought it'd be interesting to ask, and there are probubly a few other people on this site that would like to know as well.

I'm sorry, but your "a ligitimate answer" response just made me think you'd taken this whole forum too seriously, and when it gets too serious I bail out because that's not what I come here for. Intelligence doesn't have all the answers on a poetry site.

Very basic, I know, sorry:

Republicans want more power to go to the government as a whole.

Democrats want more power to stay with the individual people of America.

Thats right, but wrong.

Republicans belive that power is given to the populous by way of business and the economy. For example bigger corporations are given tax breaks because that money not given to the government trickles down to the workers who put it into the community.

Democrats give power to the people by taking their money by way of taxes and putting back into the country as a whole.

Both ideas work, both ideas have flaws and merits, both of them are corrupted by human nature.
