Hey Everyone! I decided to hold another contest, and their may be a series of these for different topics on this site. The first one will be for friendship. I want your top friendship poem, whether it's one you've written from the past, or just write for this contest. It can be about anything under the friendship heading; friends and family, love and friendship, broken friendship, best friends...etc. There are a few rules.

Rules:
1. Must rhyme. (just a preference of mine)
2. No profanity.
3. Seeing as we all having varying beliefs, please no religious friendship ones.
4. Have fun!

Any length is fine, long or short. I will accept the first 10, but if this gets a good response, I'll accept more. There are no reserves, just copy and paste them in here and they'll be accepted!

But..
It's time to step out of the box.

Stars in a sky oh so bright,
Take my hand, hold on tight
As butterflies dance along,
You will find it is here you belong.

Winds caress our smiling faces,
For souls of us move a thousand traces
Of memories and sunny days,
Touch our faces, these golden rays.

Take my hand, and hold on tight,
No longer will you alone on those nights
I'll be there to open my arms
To save you from the ways of harm.

Just remember, I'm always here,
As the moon will soon appear,
Never let go of my hand, you'll see
I'm as worthy and you and I could ever be.

You've been my friend,
Through thick and thin.
I've got so much to say,
Where do i begin?

We met at Primary,
We hated each other then!
But things got better,
After we turned ten.

We went up to high school,
It was a big and scary place.
So we stuck together,
and went at our own pace.

We had a lot in common,
and had a lot of fun.
Our random conversations,
and the things we'd done.

Year nine was just the best,
The year that we went mad.
We just laughed our way through life,
We were never ever sad!

Now we're in year 11,
Only four weeks left of school.
Soon we will be leaving,
It all seems so cruel.

Now we're off to college,
Every thing will be new.
But we've got a road trip planned,
That i will pursue.

We won't ever say goodbye,
We promised to stay friends.
Your one of the best things in my life,
This isn't where it ends. ©

Losing a friend

Something has happed to you, dear friend,
You use to be yourself and now you pretend
To be someone else… someone untrue
I wish you would tell me…where’s the real you?
You broke my trust when you tore apart
All that tied us at the start…
Someone you use to hate is now your closest friend
I thought you could see through her mask of pretend…
She is to blame for she’s the one that took away
All of your inner beauty… and you thought it was ok…
So now you’ve built this other you, a monster
That keeps on breeding hate faster and faster…
Why have you done this? Can’t you see?
The way things are, is not how their meant to be.
You pushed me away, so there’s nothing I can do
To help reveal what’s left of you…

Look in the mirror and try to see
If this is the way you want to be…

Outside so beautiful, inside so dark,
An evil girl that has no heart…
A so-called rebel that knows nothing of
True freedom or how it’s like to love.
Clothes with prints that “scream” with pain,
All done for attention, but all in vain.
You don’t realize that you’re not the only one
To hurt, to cry, to feel undone,
Yet you don’t seem to get out your selfish hate,
Maybe you’ll realize it when it’s too late…
But until then you choose the wrong path,
You cut, you bleed and you forgot to laugh,
Your beauty now, is darkened by the sorrow you feel
When you see your new mask starting to peel…
It hurts to see how she plays you so cleaver
She changed you for now and maybe forever…

I hope someday you’ll see that the way you are now is just not right
And try to change back to how you were and not give up without a fight…

You Are My Best Friend

It brings me to tears when I think of You,
and the amazing person You are.
Out of everybody I have ever met,
You are the greatest one by far.

Trying to explain how much You mean,
I don't know where to start.
All the words in the dictionary,
can't describe what I feel in my heart.

Who would have thought on that friday night,
at that party where we first met.
Through coincidence, chance or just pure luck,
a strongest friendship in gold would be set.

We've had our fair share of ups and downs,
challenges thrown at us through the years.
There's nobody else I'd rather share all this with,
whether it's laughter, pain, heartache or tears.

Secrets been told, we've spent many nights crying,
helping each other stay strong.
Trying to reply to unanswered questions,
of how life at times is so wrong.

Laughing so loud at the silliest things,
until we've found it hard to breathe.
Still bringing things up and giggling,
from past memories that'll not leave.

Four shoulders between us of which are all drenched,
from the millions of tears we have cried.
Knowing all there's to know inside and out,
and still we stand strong, side by side.

I would do absolutely anything in my power,
To stop all the tears that You cry.
Knowing you would do the same for me,
which is why for you I would die.

I'd never think twice about placing my life,
in control of your trustworthy hands.
You'd only do right, would hold my life tight,
knowing all my fears, secrets and plans.

If this was to be my last day of living,
if my life had to come to an end.
I could only die smiling with you by my side,
because Carla... You are my best friend.

My Last Breath

Feels only like yesterday you were smiling at me
Doing nothing but singing of sweet dreams
Just being the perfect person, my only friend
I never dreamed I'd never see you again
Never imagined I'd get that call
The call that destroyed it all
When she said her son had died
All I could do was lay down and cry
Now I've only pictures of you to see
I wish you knew what you mean to me
Every night to the Lord I pray
That when in heaven, I'll be able to say
What you mean to me my friend
My soul will love you to the end
You were there for me through and through
And for that, I'll forever adore you
Now, as I begin to breathe my last breath

Junior (Rest In Peace)

For twelve years you've been our friend,
but after all this time it can never end.
Our memories, they will forever last,
as we set here and reminisce on the past.
We still cant believe that you're gone,
now after all this time we're left alone.
We all know that your pain has ceased,

this poem was written for one of my best friends who was killed in a car crash in September

Run to Me

If you need a friend, don't be afraid to call,
For I'll be there in a flash, if you ever fall.
Run to me, if your heart breaks, I'll mend it,
Or if ever you can't bring back your spirit.

I might love you way too much for comfort,
We'll put it on pause if you ever get hurt.
I'll hold you in my arms and tell you, you'll be fine,
I'll help you get your life to realign.

Run to me don't be afraid to,
I'll be here if you ever need me for you.
Run to me, no matter what time it may be,
Even at 3 in the morning, you can call me.

And I'll come running, in a second I'll be there,
I'll help you fix whatever needs repaired.
Forget my love for you; I'll help you until the end-
Of time. For I know everyone needs...a friend.

I wish upon a star one night

My Tresures

Written to my three beautiful grand babies.
Who give me a reason to face each day.

I have three little treasures,
more precious than any gold.
They help me pass my days away,
in their hands, my heart they hold.

I have three little treasures,
that I bounce upon my knee.
They bring me so much joy,
they mean so much to me.

I have three little treasures,
they love me all the same.
Their smiles light up the room,
and take away the pain.

I have three little treasures,
I won't live to be seen grown.
I will always watch over them,
from my heavenly home.

I have three little treasures,
Whom I'm sure will remember me.
When I am just an angel,

~ Your poem was absolutely brilliant. The wording and flow just seemed so perfect to me! Now, I do not like poems including when people cut themselves but this poem did it in such a little way that it didn't overshadow the point of the poem. It was very good!

2nd Place goes to ForeverLonely[Skippy Sarah]
~ Your poem was very short and sweet. But I really liked the emphasis given on how your friend cares and understands you and is always there for you. It was a very nice poem, and had a deep meaning with simple words.

3rd Place goes to Donna
~ Donna, your poem was very sweet. I do have some suggestions though. Your third staza's flow is off. When you read it, the rhymes don't follow quite right. So I would suggest editing that to make it flow like the rest of it. But I do love the youthfulness it gives to friendship. It highlights the happiness you feel and joy you receive from your friends. It's this that brings out the kid in us all! But towards the end it also shows the deepness of trust in true friendships to the point of giving your life, or trusting yours in their hands. It was a truly wonderful poem!
