is there any unique mythical creatures out there i mean you have vampires and werewolves but they both do the same thing and zombies and dr frankenstine. i mean come on is there no originality anymore. |

I think alot of modern mythical creatures are rip offs of old ones. You can adapt them but essentially they are the same. Gollum is quite unique but he is not a new to literature, only film. |

Ligers aren't mythical (assuming you're talking about the LionXTigers?) they've actually bred them. Umm what about the Harpie or the three headed thing that Hercules killed? They're pretty unique. |

^ the three-headed dog was cerebrus, mentioned above. hmm, what else can i think of... Scylla, in the Odyssey - body of a dog, with serphent heads? Chimaera - goat body, snake tail, lion head. cyclops... mm. (crunkz took all of my good ones : ) ) Kelpies - the Irish water horse demons that seduce unsuspecting travelers into the water, where they drown them... |

I think Tracy hickman and Margaret Weis did a great job on creating non-existent character's. The full description of the draconians in War of the Lance was fasicanting... and extreamly creative.. |
