Tempest Past (Cinquain)

Darkest tempest of fatal desire,
Ariseth from thou peaks
Light the temptation of want's own fire
Awaken all the meek
Giving power to the weak

The planets align in chastity
Universal perforation
Pulsating through innocent childrens' dreams
Pumping blood in circulation
Awakening the entire nation

A culture lost within misery
Nightmares do take flight
Storm brewing, awakening within tragedy
Light lingering within thy eyes
Stopping for yonder passerby

It's been a while since I've written a fantasy poem

Remember the Dragons
--------------------------------------------
The air swam in mists of magic,
and climbed the scales of gold.
Though the ending was too tragic,
One lived till the story was told.

Beyond the lands lush with greens,
beyond the mountain high,
Beyond the taint of any queens
Beyond the azure sky
Fire scorched the stars of night
Drums beneath the ground
Wings of jewels swift with flight
Yet silent without a sound

They followed the dear tales of old,
Damsels and Princes and spells.
Each with skills twice than bold,
or locked within stone cells.

Remember the dragons' fame
Ruling a world of grey
Remember the heaven of flame
Till riches turn to decay

Bitten...your poem is dark, but I'm not sure it fits what I'm looking for. I'm looking for fantasy..magic, dreams, nightmares, fairtytales, mythological creatures, medieval time period, etc etc...Also, you did not include a title. Could you please add one?

So anyway, if you want to leave your poem in..that's fine, but I may not rate it as highly for the reason stated above. If you want to increase your chances of winning, you might write a more fantasy related poem or submit a second one (two poems permitted per poet).

My Guardian Angel

I stand here protected, as one guarded child.
I sit alone safely, where nothing is wild.
Never been in danger, never in harm's way.
and all of life's challenges, waited at bay.

i have always been happy, for I've never felt pain.
my angel stands by me through sun snow and rain.
she is always smiling. and a smile she receives.
she tricks enemies away, or is it me she deceives?

I have always been guarded, and so never in fear.
and I stay locked up always, year after year.
have not seen a human, for she said they are bad
and even though i am healthy, i remain sad.

have i been missing out, is there much more to life,
could i someday have children and maybe a wife?
I must see it for myself, no longer can i wait.
i must be fragile, for fear is a human trait.

i wanted the experience, yet she locked me in.
i tried to run away, but she will always win.
I'm stuck here forever, i cry through the night.
and for the first time ever, i am feeling fright.

so long's gone by now, i still am stuck here.
i now cry every night, for real life is so near.
but here i shall stay, until my final breath.
so is she My Guardian Angel, or my Angel of Death.

I'm a little confused...Oscar wrote a poem for the last spot, but never reserved...I think I let a few other people do the same thing...but you obeyed the rules and asked to reserve a spot....ugh. Someone tell me what to do! Haha

Actually...Oscar, your poem is more about angels and religion than fantasy...I am atheist, and I do believe that angels are fituitous...or however that word is spelled, but I still wouldn't classify them as fantasy/fiction material.

You can leave this poem in the contest for it somewhat pertains to nightmares, but you may not do as well due to the topic. OR you could try writing another...or simply, submit another. Two poems allowed per poet.

alright well....you guys don't get your poems in, i'm hunting you down and...well, the plan isn't fullly constructed yet...but it won't be fun.
