I Would Like To Know

Why so much money is being given away through things like the lottery, tv shows such as deal or no deal, who wants to be a millionaire, the weakest link etc, when there are people in the world who are literally dying of starvation, children with diseases that can not be cured because they don't have the money to pay for treatment, people being homeless due to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, hurricances etc, yet not being able to build new houses as they to don't have the money to do so...
Why are so many undeserving people who have the things that one actually NEEDS in life such as clothes, food, home, health etc already getting all this money to waste on material things?
...Society kind of sickens me...

Its true. . . Its accepted because people tend to accept the world they are presented with. . . Because it has always been that way people tend to think that its the rights way, even thought its not. . .

Actually a girl on my street won once.. so yeah, people do win
And in answer to the original post, it's because the majority of the public watch it and enter it, that they still provide it, so we only have ourselves to blame really.
