Church unity

The Church is the Body of Christ. The whole purpose of the church is to help build the Kingdom of God. I don't think that these two denominations should come together and form one, because they're different in some ways (I think). But that should not stop the entire Body of Christ from getting together and encouraging each other in our daily lives. As long as your living for God, then it shouldn't matter what church you belong to. We're all brothers and sisters in Christ and should have the same mentality when it comes to serving Him.

I agree that some churches, especially early and popular ones, have been/are corrupt. However, you have to remember that the Catholics found themselves at the spearhead of an enourmous movement. Even the romans, as a nation, joined the church, so they found themselves wielding a lot of power in a short amount of time. The Buddhists, on the other hand, quietly matured before attracting many of their followers. It's hard to say how either religion would have turned out under reverse circumstances. Personally, I'm a non-denominational Christian

Yes, your body is a temple. But Church is supposed to be a place to learn and to have fellowship with other Christians. Unfortunately this is not always the case, but Church doesn't necessarily have everything to do with the building itself. But the body of Christ is the Church, made up of all those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Meaning each Christian is a part of the body of Christ.

There are Bible verses to back up the fact that the Church is the Body of Christ:

    Ephesians 1:22-23
"And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."

    1 Corinthians 12:27-28
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." (Paul, in a letter to a church in Corinth)

So a church is not made up of a building, it's the people, and it is the Body of Christ.

Question: with all the things going on in this world right now. Should we truly be worrying about if a bunch of fanitics get together?

Time after time, religion steals the spotlight from things that need more attention. Yes, we do have certian ''church'' (money launders) that take money and ''help'' people in different countries.
I just say who cares? Lets get to some problems that actually matter.

Church is nothing more than any other man made instituion with beauracratic inertia. Basically, it is a beauracracy. To tell you how church is let me explain how it works. A new believer gets saved, then church people basically say, "hey. Great, Jesus has saved you. Now we are brothers in Christ (meaning equal in God's eyes). Why don't you come on down to my church where we will make you pay to come, tell you how to live your life and try to control you." Yeah that's pretty much it.

^That is not what church is. If is it than it's pretty corrupt, and the people should read their Bibles to see what church should be and what God thinks of it all. It's sad how many people misrepresent their own faith sometimes.

I think churches should not unite, but not care. They need to learn that they worship the same god, and the petty differences they argue over God doesn't even care that much about to begin with.

And Lovely Bones... What church doesn't tell people how to live, or ask for money.

Cory, I didn't say that churches didn't do that, but I don't think it's right for them to do that. That's all :)
