There Must be Some Place Better

I feel so lost,
like I don't belong
Why aren't I loved?
What have I done wrong?

My body is living,
but my soul is long dead
My heart is starving for love,
it needs to be fed.

Life is always dark,
as black as the night
What will the future hold?
Will there ever be light?

Will the sun ever come out?
Will the birds start singing?
Will these monsters go away,
or will they keep on living?

I need someone to answer me,
but there's no one there
No one to love me,
nobody to care.

What's the point in living,
when I don't feel real?
There must be some place better,
where my heart can heal.

Palm of your Hand

At times in the night I recall his memories,
Filled with heartbreak and meant-to-be's.
Then you came in and picked up the broken pieces,
Made sure not to drop any through you finger creases.

I have a very strong affection,
for you. But I'm scared of rejection.
You have me in the very palm of your hand,
I am under your control and command.

You brought me back into the light,
I know I'll fall asleep dreaming of you tonight.
I got these feelings, and you don't even know,
But you pulled me back up, when I was low.

These feelings inside are just so intense,
I just can't stand all of this suspense.
I guess for now, I'll keep wishing on my star,
But as long as you're in my mind, you'll never be far.

A Final Prayer (Revised)

A slow rolling tear
Fell down his cheek,
standing over her bed
he began to feel weak.

He couldn't believe it
No way this was true,
He couldn't live without her
He wouldn't know what to do.

He dropped to his knees
At the head of her bed,
Crying to the ceiling
He looked up and said,

"Why'd you do this god
Why'd you take her from me
I need her so much
Why can't you see?

It can't end this way
No, she can't die,
God please don't do this
I can't say goodbye

She can't go away
Not here, not now,
I'll do anything to keep her here
Please just tell me how

Take the life from me
Take my heart and soul,
God please bring her back
I don't care what the toll.

Take the blood from my veins
The breath from my chest,
She doesn't deserve this
Put me to rest.

Everyone held their breath
As she lies there slowly dying.
The only sound to be heard
Was of this teenage boy's crying

His tears crashed to the floor
As he barely made a stand,
He reached across her body
And gently held her hand.

As he wiped his eyes
He couldn't understand
Why'd this have to happen
Why'd it have to end?

She wasn't old at all
just barely fifteen,
her whole life ahead
her future unseen.

Again he fell to his knees
Not knowing what to say,
He held her hand tight
Not ready to give away.

Then they heard the monitor
Beep for the final time,
After that, all to be heard
Was a single flat line.

Letting her hand go
He softly kissed her cheek,
As more tears came to his eyes
He prayed they'd soon meet.

Although she is in heaven
Past the clouds and above,
They could deny him her body
But could not deny their love.

And when he gets to heaven
He will soon see
She will be waiting
To be together, Eternally

It's been another night,
Where I'll wait by the phone,
To listen for your phone call,
To tell me you made it home alright.

It's hard to be a firefighters volunteers girlfirend,
Knowing you could vanish in a second,
But I'll make it through just fine,
I got this far so I can make it to the end.

Baby, I can't believe I found you,
You're so amazing,
You've became my everything,
I dare won't let you go.

Everynight is a another night,
That I will hear our song,
Waiting for your phone call,
To hear your loving voice.

The way you talk with a southern accent,
Makes my head spin with laughter,
The way you tell me you love me,
Just makes my heart flutter.

Once Upon A Broken Heart

Once upon a happier time
A princess longed for a prince to call mine
She looked low and she looked high
Always searching for that special guy

Then one day, a mysterious suitor appeared
He told the princess she had nothing to fear
So she trusted him and let her heart lead the way
He took her by the hand and took her heart away

She had no idea the mistake she was making
Her love was true but he was perfect at faking
He fed her such lies, and she believed every one
He laughed at her expense, he laughed at her fun

The princess was blind to all his lies
She was mystified when she looked in his eyes
He did what he wanted, just as he planned
He took he innocence as he took her hand

Though people tried to tell her, she didn't believe them
How could anyone tell her to leave him
No one knew who he was, or what he was doing there
But the princess didn't mind, she thought he cared

As the nagging got worse, the princess turned a deaf ear
The suitor had told her that she would have nothing to fear
But then, in time, she would learn the truth about him
About where he was going and where he had been

One day he vanished, without a trace
There was nothing left standing in his place
Gone was everything the princess valued most
The suitor appeared to be some sort of ghost

He left her almost as suddenly as he came
She knew nothing other than his name
That's when her fairy tale fantasy apart
It was all because it was built on Once Upon A Broken Heart
