On the radio i heard that perants are useing dyslexia as an excuse for there children for being lazy, stupid... it goes on, i found this quiet hurtfull because i have the disability and its kind of saying yes you dont have any thing wrong with you your just stupid, lazy, daydreamer.

what do you lot think about this?

My boyfriend's brother has it and I don't think he's stupid at all. He's kinda funny: Turning the problems of his past into jokes to keep people in a good mood. I guess it would be really darn hurtful to hear that people are just thinking you're lazy when you really do have a problem/disability.

Dyslexia doesn't make people stupid... actually, it comes in many different ways and is not always really bad.
one of my friends has dyslexia, and even though she can't read very well, because she gets things backwards, u should see her art!!! it is really gorgeous, and has won a few shows....

another of my friends who is 15 has just been diagnosed with dyslexia after going 15 yrs without knowing she has it...
some effects of it are just not being organized, or getting lost easily... so it is not a disability all of the time. and it certainly does not make people stupid.
i do not know anyone who is stupid cause they have dyslexia.

Everything can be abused for the wrong or right reason. We should not sit here and judge when we ourselves abused something of some kind.

I know dyslexia doesnt effect all part of your life ^-^ iv never been good at any sport apart from athletics all my life but give me a pencil i could draw what ever.
My sister has to take a test costing about £400 to prove she has dyslexia so we can get a grant to help through the years... its kind of silly because we have already been tested in the past and you cant exaclly loose a disabillity like dyslexia, but i can also see why they do it because of the amount of people and stuff.
