The "Forbidden Religion"

Never really understood it, I had to look it up; otherwise I would have just assumed that it was like Devil worshiping.... In reality now I know it’s not all that bad, and not evil like everybody assumes. As I assumed.

    A few Rules they Follow:

    # Stupidity is the cardinal sin of Satanism (As the cardinal sin, Stupidity is the cause of all other sins)
    # Herd Conformity for the sake of laziness is a sin
    # Killing or harming animals unless for clothes, food or material is a sin
    # Unproductive pride is a sin
    # Do not harm children, for they are our future
    # If in someone else's territory treat them with respect for they are protecting you.
    # Never give your opinions unless asked.
    # When you are in your own territory, maintain control and remain the greatest power between yourself and your guests.

Well, I know I’m a Satanist I break rule #7 all the time.

Ok, so this religion beilves in Vampires?
example: 6) Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, instead of concern for psychic vampires!

Sorry, I just feel that this is just a little over the top don't you think?

"Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!"

    [from the satanic bible]

You know Jason, i'm training to be a cult counseller in Edinburgh, and i gotta say, i'm sick of people like yourself talking down one organised religion [mainly christianity] and then bigging up another one in it's place. Hare Krishna's, Scientologists...you guys are all the same...proclaiming certain truths and pouring scorn on others, ways of living, individuals who do not meet your cults lofty heights of intellectual superiority.

Why should i destroy someone who bothers me in the street as your cults rules say? Why should i be cruel to someone who enters my home and perhaps innocently annoys me? Do you really think these kind of thought patterns benifit society, and thusly every individual?

Satanist, Mason, Christian, Scientologist...it's all the same garbage rehashed by arrogant individuals who think they know some special secret and i'm sick of it.

Peace and love to everyone, no matter their intelligence.

Devil Worshippers are Christians. Satanists are not.

No "Dr" Jason, i am not an idiot...overly passionate regarding certain subjects perhaps, which can make me overlook small details, but definitely not an idiot. Still, nice well thought out way to open your response, classy even.

Right then, lets look at what you said shall we.

Ok, fair point, you did state that you are not a Satanist and i missed that. Why may i ask did you then present so much detailed information regarding the subject, which to the passive observer, seems to be in favour of this cult? I'm all for the sharing of information, i'm just slightly concerned as to your motives.

Can you please point out to me the direct insult on your person that i hit you with? What exactly did i call you? aside from talking about my feelings and linking you with other individuals who seem to feel it is their calling to spread the word [yeah i know you ain't a Satanist]. Don't tell me we are even until i've called you silly names ok.

And as for your statement about the crimes of christianity and all it's bastardised offshoots having some negating effect on my point about the negativity of Satanism and it's ramifications for society, read my post again. I clearly state that i consider christianity and all other religions to be just as bad as satanism....they are all cults in my mind, some just older and larger than others.

You say that religious tolerance is the thing most needed for society. Well i say to you that the abolishment of organised religion in all it's forms coupled with a reworking of the superstructure of society that either supports their existence [as the governments of the world do with Christianity] or places such uneeded pressure on people that they throw themselves into escapist cults just to get through each day.

"The opiate of the masses" as Mr marx said.

And as for my being overly literal with the interpreation of the satanic bibles rules, lets look at a few of them word for word as they appear and see if we can draw a more accurate meaning, hopefully i'm not too stupid to get it right.

"4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy. "

"11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him."

[taken directly, word for word from the official church of satan website]

    http://www.churchofsatan.com/home.html

Go on Dr Jason, please give me a more insightful interpretation of these two rules because they appear pretty simple to me and i assume most other people who read them.

WOW well thanks to every one who posted particularly Jason Jacki and Kevin - I didn't have a great understanding of this subject but the three of you have widened my perspective...thanks for the insight and little educative lesson!

Kevin is handling so ably pointing out certain discrepancies in tenets that I shalln't add anything specifically to that part of the discussion.

But I do take interest in a certain statement of yours, Dr. Jason. You state Satanism is the "first carnal religion in human history"? That appears to be a somewhat strange statement considering you also date it's genesis as being within the 20th century.

There were mystery cults of the Mediterranean that practiced sex and pleasure magic as core to their religious practices in the early centuries BC. And while not per se a religion but more so a philosophy, Cyrenaics pursued sensual pleasure in all its myriad forms as a way of life... could all of those not be called carnal religions?

Interestingly enough, most of their tenets managed to pursue carnality while not destroying others' pleasure of life. A fine line, I suppose.

You see what happened here is that Dr Jason was bothering me. I told him so but he didn't stop it. So i destroyed him using, and adhering to the very philosophy he spreads word of.

    How cool it that eh?
