Brain Teaser # 3 (Riddles)

1. You are walking through a field, and you find something to eat. It doesn't have bones, and it doesn't have meat. You pick it up and put it into your pocket. You take it home and put it on a shelf, but 3 day's later it walks away. What is it?

2. There are 20 people in an empty, square room. Each person has full sight of the entire room and everyone in it without turning his head or body, or moving in any way (other than the eyes). Where can you place an apple so that all but one person can see it?

3. A man has to get a fox, a chicken, and a sack of corn across a river. He has a rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing. If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken. If the chicken and the corn is left together, the chicken will eat the corn. How does the man do it?

4. I can be created by humans, But they cannot control me. I suck on wood, paper and flesh alike. I can be more of a hindrance than help at times. To my creators, I seem to be everywhere at once. What am I?

5. I have many feathers to help me fly. I have a body and head, but I'm not alive. It is your strength which determines how far I go. You can hold me in your hand, but I'm never thrown. What am I?

6. Little Nanny Etticoat, in a white petticoat, and a red nose; the longer she stands, the shorter she grows. What is she?

7. Two men are in a desert. They both have packs on. One of the guys is dead. The guy who is alive has his pack open, the guy who is dead has his pack closed. What is in the pack?

8. A man was outside taking a walk when it began to rain. He did not have an umbrella and he wasn't wearing a hat. His clothes were soaked, yet not a single hair on his head got wet. How could this happen?

9. Punctuate the following so it makes sense: "That that is is that that is not is not is not that it it is"

10. Mom and Dad have four daughters, and each daughter has one brother. How many people are in the family?

I threw the puncuation one in there because i like it - i know it's not a riddle .. but it's tough. Don't post the questions - just your answers.

Well I'm going to have a shot.. even if I don't think I'm right lol... so here goes.

1. I'm not really sure on this one at all.. I was thinking it might have been an egg of some sort.. like a cocoon? I don't really know.

2. Put the apple on one persons head? Or above their head.

7. A parachute. He died because it didn't open.

8. He didn't have hair? haha.

10. 10?

Haha I've probably just embarrased myself with stupid answers but hey, I'm bored & it's something to tease my brain with. :]

LoL Tammie, valiant effort - you seem to be missing a few answers there.

I'm positive on all of them but #4... I had two guesses for that, but if either of my guesses are right, I think the question is misleading because both my ideas can pretty much be controlled.
