Any Tips??

    don't rhyme, and just let go. Poems get ridiculously long when its free verse. Or stick to a formalized type of poem, e.g. an English sonnet. Then you'd have to beat 4 lines.

    Maybe the poem you're writing isn't the best to write. Just start over or something.
    Long poems and short poems are both fine.

    Just write loads of ideas down, anything that comes into your head.

    I save all my ideas in a word document on my computer.

    That way you can always come back, open up the document and add more lines/topics to your work.

    Gradually poems will start to appear.

    Try writing late at night or when you are exhausted. When your body is tired your mind is more open and ideas start flowing.
