I know a few spells of the love genre.

By the light of a full moon, take a silver ring and wrap it in a clean white cloth. Dig a small hole and bury the ring inside. While focusing on the kind of lover you are looking for and pouring a small amount of wine (or milk) over the earth recite these words:

Blessed Mother fair and true
This Gift I offer unto You
Bless this ring and make it shine
Bring a lover to be mine
So Mote it Be!

Leave the ring buried until the next full moon, then dig it up and wear it. If your lover is near, he/she will be drawn to you.

Thats it. That is magick...it's the secret of all spells, just a focussed mind.

Now if you are very astute you will have understood that if you can focus your mind enough without any special instruments then you don't need them, or anyone else to get what you want.

See it, feel it....smell it..understand that is is possible for you..believe it...sounds dramatic I know...but it's at the heart of all magic.

And magic is all about getting what you want.

Kevin, can I hazard a guess? You went through some sort of shamanistic, spiritualist stage, didn't you?

I think you're right, though. Heh, I think the world is magic. Rituals, practices, myths, repetition, culture.... they're all different languages to try to express it. But I don't know if we necessarily need to try so hard.

Ah didn't we all Sibyllene? When I was about 15 I got involved in spiritualism and that lead quite naturally to much reading and experimenting with all kinds of other practices. They all seemed flawed to me, but I took their messages and bits and pieces of their wisdom and moved through Shamanism, Wicca, some local cult readings like the Golden Dawn teachings and even some of Mr Crowley's writings....

Because I didn't settle on one practice or mentality, and I could see them all working in their own way I came to understand that there must be something that is special to them all, and I realized that was me and my mind.

I stopped dabbling in ceremony after that and moved on to real work...like Outer Body Experiences and practices that supplement that such as Tai Chi and Yoga.

What about you my dear?....got a cauldron kicking about somewhere? I recall Ddavid said you had some kind of spiritual gift...maybe he was just chatting you up...or maybe you do...

Ha, oh Kevin. You see, my childhood and adolescence was made up primarily of teen fantasy novels. So I was -raised- on this conglomeration of interpretations of magic and spirituality. Most of the books that went into this early forming of my psyche didn't necessarily include magic in the sense of particular spells or rituals... they generally treated magic more as this great force at work in the world, to which one may become connected, and thereby draw one's power. I was fed with Good vs. Evil, you see. So that's always been at work in me.

There were plenty of years where I tried to make flames flicker with my mind, etc. Still trying ; ).

I really enjoy Yoga, even though I'm pretty bad at it. Mentally, I'm good at it. I like the focus and the... emptiness, I guess. I like the training of the will on an intention.... mmhm.
