when a guy tells you that he hates you, does that mean that he really hates you? My ex occasionally tells me that he hates me, but he always says he doesn't mean it....I just don't know what to think...

did you do something to hurt him? When guys say that they sometimes mean that they are hurt. Instead of saying they are hurt, they just say "I hate you," to put a comic spin on the situation by blowing it out of proportion. Or he could actually hate you. It isn't something I could know.

It all depends on how he says it. If he says it with conviction, than he may actually strongly dislike you. However, if it has a less serious tone, then the answer is no.
