Writing Challenge #2

Since the last one was quite successful, i'm hoping to make this a weekly thing and whoever writes the best one gets three comments

I'm going to give you a topic and you have to write about that topic for three minutes straight. Even if you end up writing, "I don't know what to write" for three mins, you write!
Then after three mins, look back at your work and see what you can pull from it to make into a poem. It's a great cure for writers block.

The second topic is stars.

I have to give this ago I haven't been wrighting much lately this might get me going again.

Those bright twinkling stars
So many miles away
Those millions of dots
Lighting up the night sky

Looking out your window
At a star so far away
Wishing for that special person
The one you met today

Thay represent something special
The bright light in your life
The beauty of the universe
And the beauty of a single life

I glance with awe into the night sky and reach for the stars with all my might,

As I aim for the brightest one, I come across a peculiar one.

Was rusty and was not the brightest but had a glow no other attained.

I gazed with amazement at how such a faulty star still glow with an uncompromising warmth to your heart.

That star pierced my eyes with such a force that I seemed to be in a trance by its exquisiteness.

That star and I grew to be friends; we intertwined into a being of mortality and indescribable divinity.

I would hold my breath to grasp this dream for just a minute longer,
and when I would open my eyes,
I would see you with those pure eyes and I knew that we would be safe.

I'm never in this forum.. but wow this is an awesome idea. I'm going to try it. :]

Okay here I go...

So I pulled you in close and whispered in your ear
'If I could, I'd give you all of those in a second'
You just looked at me with a strange look on your face
As though I was crazy, but I just knew it was love

From the first moment I saw you I knew you were special
Never knowing how far I would fall and some would say
That it was from right up there amongst those stars
That I wish for you on, every single night they shine

Burning bright, they glow for the hope I have in you
One day, I know that I will share this feeling with someone
Who will feel the same back, and we will be happy, but for now
I am content with knowing it will happen... one day.

This sounds realy cool and it's a really good idea, but I think I missed it for this week. Crap! lol. is it still open or is it over? and if it is over is there going to be another one?

It's not over that I know of.. Idk. I think Gem will post when it is, and post another one. She seems to be the one holding these, this is my first one. :]

Yep, this is to try and cure writers block, not a real contest.
It ends tomorrow i think this one and then we'll get a new subject up =)

As we gaze at the heavens
our little slice of the sky
pearls shining back at us
a truth we can't deny

Angelic twinkling diamonds
fill this beautiful view
lived so many lifetimes
still so clear and so new

Nights crystal studded blanket
that lays over this world
glance at a new section
a new landscape unfurls

The stars are a lifeline
for the brave and the bold
take a look for yourself
at the beauty they hold

These gems of the sky
shining brightly at night
these heavenly teardrops
bring us so much delight

Lmao. Oh i write all right. But i don't have writers block and i have too many poems about stars as you can see on my page, lol.
Ok, this is closed now. I'll try sort through them over the weekend.

I was looking forward to the next one, lol.

I don't know if using it related to love is allowed but this is what i came up with:

I cant sleep at night
i just keep staring at the north star
its like Ive been searching for you day and night
and thousands of miles away their you are

in fact you are my north star
you guide me through the night
without you in the sky
it just doesn't seem right

your the one person in my life thats constant
you are always there
and when i cant sleep at night
all i do is look at you and stare

your the brightest star in the sky
your the guide that keeps me on track
and every time i look up at the stars
i can see you smiling back

(love is all im good at) lol
