why are some of you so bothered by what others do?

If people choose to cut them selves then that is there choice. They can do it coz it makes no difference to me. I would obviously prefer it if people could find a different form of release. But f thats what they want to do then it is there choice

I don't think cutting is "foolish" or wrong, or cowardly. Sometimes, while it may not be the right choice, it's an only choice, but you could never understand if you've never experienced it, and if you have, you'd know. These forums are pointless. Let everyone carry on their own way without any critisisms ...

honestly, you guys look like the entire world is turning against these "cutters". if one of my friends did it i'd try to help them out the best i could. there are other people out there. people that DO care, and why would you care about what other people think?

I totally agree with you. It shouldn't matter what other people think about you because the only people that matter are your friends and if they are true friends they would have your back no matter what.

And what if you haven't any friends? Also when you are depressed you generally have low self esteem and it becomes very hard to ignore what other people say about you, esp if it is aimed directly at you.
That said I am arguing just for the sake of it, I'm not taking a side here.

Well, What does it matter to me? If you only knew the effect cutting has on me. I do not self harm and never have. But, I do however have alot of experience around it. Everyone is different they inflict wounds for different reasons. But the comment you made about how we are lucky because we obviously have better ways to deal with things....that was a statement in which not one person is entitled to answer for all. Yah I may not harm self, but like everyone in this God forsaken world I am a person, I do have a right to care to express how I feel.
Just because people do not cut does not mean the way they deal with things is the right way....for that matter what is the right way?....I am not against people who harm themselves nor do i disrespect them unless i am called on in a rude fashion because of my veiws on this particalar subject. People seem to think that inflicted wounds should be welcomed with open arms so to speak, But personally I care so much about it to speak against it because i have lost many people in my life to inflicting wounds, so yah I will ALWAYS have something to say about this subject and I care because why shouldnt I? Yah it may be your life, your choices, your body but with cut you make......you not only hurt yourself, you hurt your friends, your parents, brothers, sister etc etc. And only if some people could see the hurt and pain that dwells within a person because of there "habit" i think things would be somewhat clearer.
but this is just my thoughts. I did not mean to come off rude if i did a apoligize.
