Hope

by Tammy Sterr   May 9, 2008

Jim stood as they lowered
Aime Jo into the ground.
He watched them as they buried
the only love that he had found.

She wished to do so many things
before the dark angel took her home.
Instead she now has a pair of wings
that she can call her own.

He was there holding onto
his lovely fading wife
as she perished due to complications
that giveth and taketh life

He had to hold back the tears
as he walked away.
Now he had to be strong
each and every day

Because he carried with him
not a burden with which he had to cope,
but Aime Jo’s last gift to Jim
And her name is Hope.
