I Am the Moon

I Am the Moon

In this world of mine
I describe myself as the moon
And you are the sun that shines
And gives me light at noon

You seem to be there
Every night to keep me alive
But then it's unfair
Because you don't need me to survive

You don't need my existence
Still you give your light to me
You're always full of arrogance
Never wanting to need me

Sometimes I think it's just pity
That's why you help me stand
When all is dark and weary
You give me your helping hand

The stars are with me
Cheering me up at night
Twinkling to make me happy
But I just can't get you out my mind

I'm never complete without you
I need your light to carry on
I wish I didn't, it's true
I wish I could just go alone

If one day, this world of mine
Can live on without you
Then that day, I can say goodbye
But will that day, ever come soon?
