I'd Rather Be With You

by Torrence   Oct 30, 2008

Call me your hero, I'll call you my queen
Say it's forever, I might start to believe
These days hang like rhymes from the tips of our tongues
Can't hear past the noise of the songs we ain't sung
I'm crushed by the weight of the light in your eyes
Buzzing like neon, or stars in disguise
This tainted whisper's been drowned by fear
Apologies too loud to hear
Your clouded eyes let tears rain down
I stand paralyzed as our world drowns
Please show me a smile, I'll give you my arm
Keep it around you, shield you from harm
I've wandered round aimlessly, looked everywhere
Done all that is to be done out there
So tell me you love me, I'll tell you it's true
Whatever else may come, I'd rather be with you.
