Even the Music Couldn't Handle This Drama

With the smoke filling our nose,
i think it's time to admit we can finally see clearly.
those stars are as beautiful as any symphony we might play,
but it's not worth it if i'm not listening to it without you.

baby, the times roll by and even the music couldn't handle this drama;
we've got to shake our bodies like we mean to dance all night.

it's not about the action, it's about the principal,
and i know you're not smart enough to get the action right,
but things are shaking and i'm really sorry it had to end this way.

i really don't think you understand,
the waves are tapping at our hearts
and all we're doing is ignoring the persitance.
yet somehow, it calms me, the tapping that i feel;
it's like a lullaby of heartbeats that promises to never disperse with its fading song.

oh baby, baby the lullabies we sing will rack our hearts with memories,
yet as they tap away we'll promise our selves

it's forever, it's forever.
