The Last Decision

by Illusion   Mar 4, 2009

Amidst the stars at night
in the moon lit sky.
A wounded soldier
at war against time.

An outcome will decide
his valor in life
to reward him with pride
or to bury him
as the dead who resigned.

Slowly the child fades
on the blood stained lawn.
While the outcome strikes
just minutes before dawn.

Draped in the flag
the soldier's body roared.
Let's not fight
at last the countrymen swore.
