The Dream Traveler

by MadisonMetamorphosis   Oct 24, 2009

Each night, I stay up beyond the stars sight,
They count down the moments till my eyes shut.
Awake in bed with no dream playing above my head,
Those counted sheep have no proof againts this to rebut.

Through the days, fighting the suns dismay,
I try to shine brighter than the world could see.
All of Earth laughs as I walk on past,
As if to say, "Away with such irony."

People say my name, and I face the shame,
Because only I know who I am.
I meet another face which ends in disgrace,
Because I'm seen once more through fictitious glam.

Today is new, and tomorrow shall follow suit,
Until my purpose is finally reached.
But when that should happen, will the days start again?
Or will the true dreams invade, as so long beseeched?

For I do not sleep as its avenge shall be reaped,
But instead I dream awake in a daze.
And each morning I wake with such a quake,
Because I know how quickly time fades.

For life is defined by the perception of the mind,
But what do you prove to be true?
Do you live by the moment in a life discontent,
Or do you struggle for something you could pursue?

I will forever say, life is quickly taken away,
But only after we succeed our purpose.
I want that time to be near to spend less time here,
This is a truth I must confess.

Because in this world and dreams unfurled,
We got caught up in our want.
We never fight for what is our right,
But life ends up far from nonchalant.

But lets pretend this is the end,
Are you rising up, or have you fell?
This could have been our greatest heaven
Or possibly our worst hell.

Because time wasted on dreams never tasted,
Is less time till we are eternally free.
So I'll travel my dreams, so my purpose succeeds,
Because Heaven, my home, is where I'll finally be.
