Goblin

by Amy Dunlop   Jan 15, 2010

The goblin and his mirror
A story told by mums
To her children as they lay in bed
Whether daughters or to sons

The mirror that once shattered
And stuck in hearts and eyes
It showed the ugly in the world
Although the mirror never lies

The goblin giggled merily
As he watched it all unfold
Nothing special in the world now
Its beauty left untold

There is a way to protect yourself
From all pain and hurt
Wear a pair of glasses on your eyes
And hide away your heart
