Spring memories

by Anthony M   Mar 23, 2010

Spring finally makes her debut
slaying winter in an epic battle
flowers bloom as if on cue,
memories of her begin to stir.

Blue skies overcome the gray
sun warms the pale skin
songbirds announce the day,
memories of her still linger.

The air is filled with sounds
of so many mating rituals
love and lust easily found,
memories of her bring a smile.

Alas, only a few earn the right
to fulfill their lonely heart's desire
and consummate their love tonight,
memories of her still beguile.

I adore the every ounce of love given to this simple spring, and how ature falls into such perfect beauty. I liked the uniqueness of reading about how spring slayed winter and just the overall feeling gave of a fragrant scent of hope. Your descriptions and thoughts on this subject greatly intrigued me, and I found myself completely drawn in by your very soulful words.

Congratulations on the win, God bless!

Wonderful imagery. I can almost smell the flowers perfume in the air. Though I hate to see winter die. You made Spring sound so awesome.
    Excellent job!
