Perchance to Dream

by Torrence   Mar 28, 2010

With the stars in your eyes, and our star-crossed lives
Through the nights of our hope and our dreams that lie
And I wake with a start as I come back down
Terrified you never think of me when I'm not around
And I shake with these thoughts that I care far too much
Though I guess it'd be worse to be numb to your touch
So I'll sigh in resignation of something I fear
And I'll lose sleep every night as my mind will not clear
And you dance through my imagination, like a bird on a wire
My lamentable dream, unfortunate desire
Farewell to this dream, I've dreampt too long my friend
It was always a dream, it was fated to end.
