I Love You...

by Phoenix   Mar 27, 2011

If the moon, she were mine

To have and to hold,

I never could trade her

For wealth and for gold.

But, i'd give her to you

Just so I could say

I Love You...

Then i'd walk away.

If I had everything

I would leave it, it's true.

If it could mean i'd have more

Just by being with you!

I could forget the world

So you'd listen when I say

I Love You...

And my heart'll never stray.

If nothing I do have

Is worth anything to you,

If you just wanted me gone...

I would do that too.

Though through tears i'd smile

And still i would say

I Love You...

And wish happiness each day.

If you asked me to go

To the ends of the earth

And step over the edge

Where sea monsters berth.

I would not deny you.

But, i'd still turn and say

I Love You...

Before entering the bay.

But if you found something

In the nothing I am,

Would you lower yourself

Or weigh the dirt by each gram?

Could that something in the nothing

Ever bring you to say

I Love You...

Or would you simply walk away?
