Agape

by Viola   May 6, 2011

You have my heart
in your hands
better yet on your sleeve
you've pasted my love
a showcase not to be missed
so everyone knows I'm with you, I'm yours
but when the vowels break down
m wth, m rs will not roll off your tounge
and so you blame me
my inexcusable comment from the night before
3am and we'll argue
till we can't anymore
your anger precedes my pain
but in the end they go hand in hand
a thousand poisonous darts escape
your own mouth, agape, shouting
and my heart is silenced
ambushed
I used to believe
you'd sew me good as new
if the world tore me apart
but lately
I'm left open and raw
agape
when you're satisfied
I start to believe you resemble
the man in my tormented nightmares
rather than the man of my dreams
