The New World

by Ross H Bruce   Jun 23, 2011

Under the hot sun seven seas from the Crown
Tablet of freedom she holds in her arm.
And under her bare feet, the land where she stands
She lights up the new world, a torch in her hand.

Above the northern sky, the history begun
Lakes of courage, heroes fought and gunned.
And when the snow died, an eagle soared the sky
The new world was borne, equality in mind.

Below the southern stars, brothers once at war
Visions and dreams, justice for everyone
And amongst all men, color must be one;
Shackles were snapped, the truth won the war.

Across the golden bay, legend of time
Gate to the West, Eternal Hope lies.
And in the evening, the stars glitter the sky
Bridge of Peace shall forever stand.
