On My Own

by David   Jan 8, 2012

If your words had the weight
I carry on my shoulder
Perhaps we wouldn't be here
As the night grows colder

If the words shed the light
That is clear as day to all
Perhaps we might see too
And you wouldn't have to fall

If words could draw our dreams
And cast the demons out
Perhaps our minds wouldn't scream
And we wouldn't have to shout

If words could be more than ice
So easily melted by the Sun
Perhaps you'd hear my words
Perhaps you'd be the one

If words were more than words
And my heart a little less stone
Perhaps my words could tell you
How I feel on my own.
