The Truth

by Jordan W   Feb 20, 2012

A man knows only two things in his life.
The rhythm of his own heart telling him that he is alive,
And the feeling of his feet walking down life's dark path.
Every man climbs a mountain or two in his life,
But not all reach the far side unscathed.
I know that I climb not towards a gentle slope,
But to a cliff of untold heights.
I know not how far I will have to walk ,
But one day...
I shall feel nothing under my feet,
But the whisper of the air passing by them.
I will crash and tumble.
I will break and bleed.
But with my shattered bones,
I will stand again.
And I will do my best to climb back up to the other side,
And not just walk around.
Because some things in life,
Are worth scaling a mountain for,
Even though the path around hurts less.
