Looking back

Looking back

I looked at you, you looked at me
we both knew we were 'mean't to be'
Now only echoes remain 'Loves great song'
I still hear, but you?, you're gone

I'll always remember those times we did share
when my hands always ran through your long, long hair
When two great passions held back the tide
and we always 'walked' on lifes 'wild side'
I think of that time, God gave us those hours
when I brought you back home, and picked you those flowers
I wrapped them in foil in a little pink bow
and gave them to you so my feelings 'you'd know'
When I played you that song that I wrote just for you
as I finished, you whispered, 'I love you true'
In my eye was a tear when that last note was done
as we walked upstairs, and our Love then 'begun'

Gently, so gently as together we lay
we made such Love through all of the day
At the end of 'our time', I drove you back home
we said our goodbyes, then I was alone
I stopped on that Bridge, in the water I threw
those pretty wild flowers, I'd given to you

Everything secret all of the time
it near enough drove us out of 'our mind'
That Woman at work, right from the start
her jealousy tried to tear us apart
Your so called friend who was going 'to tell'
gave us weeks and months of living 'in Hell'
I wanted to buy you that Diamond ring
something you'd hide, a 'secret thing'
When you were alone in the night it would shine
to remind you always, that you were mine

Now all that is past, your Love it reached 'end'
you don't even think of me now as a friend
I remember that Christmas, I knew we would part
But still made you 'present, my Poems 'from Heart'
I've still got them at home, 'cause you never 'showed'
you couldn't be bothered, you left me in 'road
Your mind was so full of 'other things'
your Christmas away and the presents 'they'd bring'
Those feelings you had when you wanted me near
was just a long 'crush', but mine were sincere
I'd opened my Soul for you to explore
Now I'm barricading up that open door
With you no regrets, not even a tear
Just laughter and joy (or so I hear)
I feel so betrayed and so very alone
I have no real friends who I can phone..

You and me would be forever
the times you cried 'Leave you?, Never!'
But I will keep my promise, it's true
I will always, always be here, for you ..

The heart has a will of it's own, doesn't it, Peter?

You do have friends you can open up your heart to and trust them with all you have, at least one:)

Well done, it is a good thing you are able to release this all on paper.
