Reveal

by Autumn Leaves   Dec 30, 2012

Let's peel back the covers
and stare into each other
eyes.

Talk to me with your body
and push all other thoughts
aside.

Let's role play so that I can
make my first debut, turn the
lights on so that I can reveal
all my hidden secrets to you.

I only ask that you stay until the
curtains close. There's no need to
exchange promises or pen me a
little note, yes you've left an
impression upon this lost soul.

    Let's peel back the covers
    and stare into each other
    eyes.

    - adore this opening, it should read " each other's eyes" but it reminds me of the true conversation when you look into someone's eyes and you can see more than words could say.

Talk to me with your body
    and push all other thoughts
    aside.

    - very powerful wording here, showing the connection between the two characters is so strong it does not need words.

Let's role play so that I can
make my first debut, turn the
lights on so that I can reveal
    all my secrets to you.

    - revealing secrets - this shows the trust in the relationship and how you want them to know everything about you and feel safe with the knowledge they will not leave you.

I only ask that you stay until the
curtains close. There's no need to
exchange promises or pen me a
little note yes you've left an
    Impression upon this lost soul.

    - I think you need a comma or a full stop between note and yes, as I read this as two separate statements. a fantastic way to end the poem because it shows how much this person has changed you and made an impact on you. You have been lost so perhaps you feel this person has rescued you and shown you another way to love, a hopeful future.

Great work. I also like the title choice, it shows you are willing to reveal the real you to this person. 5/5

Very much like this stanza in your poem, it reaches out to one in the concept that words spoken or written don't mean as much as actions . .. . that's why? an impression upon the loved one is resided :P
