Gold (2/2)

by BrownEyedBabe   Aug 12, 2013

The stars at night are refusing to shine.
The moon; a void in an endless sky.
The joy those songs used to bring.
They've now become a quiet ring.
The Spring flowers, so strong, so bright.
Have vanished, without a fight.
The rain that beats on Earth's hard ground.
No longer brings a comforting sound.
The peace that's so hard to find.
Is now nonexistent in my mind.
The howling wind; so harsh and mean.
Now haunts my soul in all my dreams.
The nothingness allows no light.
Convinces me the wrongs are right.
The joy i miss now lost and bound.
Is hidden away; not to be found.
With nothing left to make me smile.
I'll suffer in silence a little while.
Like flowers in Winter that wither away.
The color in life has faded to grey.
'Cuz "nothing gold can ever stay".
