A call

by John Doe   Dec 9, 2014

In that dark alley,
when I called out
that kids name,
I heard my own,
and as he turned,
so did I,
but to see no one,
just to hear;
my own voice,
to see no face
but a memory pass by,
for I was the kid
whose name I called.

I like this as it's like you are looking back but you actually want. It could mean many things but it definitely has a deep meaning and has made a beautiful piece.

I think this poem is short but really works. It paints a little scene, but also holds a deeper meaning of what we see, hear and remember.

    Good job.

I love the unique tone here and how this concept really jumps out at the reader, though because it is a personal piece I will say wonderful job and leave it there.

I look forward to reading more from you for sure

I put it in special events 'cause I was inspired to write it by seeing the attics of a little boy who looked just like a younger version of me and this poem was an inside urge to call his name also I remember an incident of me doing similar things on a similar day and being called to look around and see no one.So that moment which inspired this one was a special event for me hence it's it's in special events.Thank you for taking time to read this one and also for the nomination.
