Wild & Tame

Don't mistake me,
I love the feel of a warm fire crackling;
The smell of smoke as it fills the room.
I'll lean back, legs outstretched
- rip meat from the spit and slurp wine like a glutton, happy as a lark.
But I also adore the dignity in manners;
The pride of hearth and heart of poetry.
Subtleties of centuries past dissolved in our present era.

    Whoa @_@ What an awesome poem. So like...relaxed and...nonchalant - effortlessly flowing and telling. I really like this

    This is a lot more meaningful than what one might assume, a simple writing that says much about you as a person. The title is perfect!

    I can imagine you in your pirate gear sat by a crackling fire slurping back the wine lol. How true the dignity of manners that once were are now dissolved. It brings back many memories you cant beat a crackling fire with friends reminiscing and story telling, Milly x
