If

by Samuel Ernst   Jun 24, 2016

If my world came crashing down and i needed help who would really come around?
And if i was half dead in the street, who would bring me in and help me to my feet?
And should i be crying in the middle of the day, who would hold me and tell me everything is OK?
Because of the man i am, i face many things alone, i was taught at a young age to handle life on my own.

Handling life on your own is the recipe for loneliness. It's sad to say, but even I at times avoid all humans because I feel bothersome with my issues; I must say that you have a community here that is probably more willing to help you than some people you are surrounded by. Being in the Air Force, I know that most people you are surrounded by are just forced to be where they are (judging by the army uniform in your photo); they end up being lethargic and are difficult to count on. Regardless, I agree with Ben, that if you close yourself off because of how you were taught then you will continue to be hurting your entire life. If humanity only relied on what they were taught, it is likely we wouldn't exist in the first place. From day one, before the bronze age, we have had to make our own rules and sort of improvise.

Regardless, a small but touching piece that many of us struggle with.

    Hello Samuel

A sad but possibly practical write here from you. Sometimes, relying on ourselves really is the only thing we can do, but that doesn't mean we should close ourselves off to the hope that things could be different.

Take care and all the best
    Ben
