LESSON OF FLAME

by Ezeani Sunday   Dec 31, 2016

All we build are mere shadow
All we mold are mere dust
In a wink of eye they go
Into a history of rust

Mountain melts down
And fountain runs dry
Crown slump to clown
With all fame fly

Plane is made in uncounted years
Only to clash in a second
Titanic upon its buoyancy
A faith could not hold

When the Crib misfired at St. James
Smoke of vanity of life
Overshadowed dudes and dames
With truth and false at saucy strife

Life is more than one plus one
The Pythagorean number cannot decode
All that we have lost or won
Let's just gaze at our eternal abode
