Music of Suicide

by Vicente   Mar 1, 2017

Suicide is bittersweet:
tastes of sour memories
flashes of futures too sweet
and never to be.
Cyanide feels like relief:
cool and calming as it goes down
bringing peace with a price.
Razor blades sound tranquil:
the hum of the blade on skin
breathing tunes of solace.
When you jump from a ledge
the rushing air wraps you up
like a amour suit.
A gun tells you like it is
straight forward, no sugar coating.
Electricity is an old lover
every time you meet you come alive
just to be left lifeless and broken.
Drowning is like a dark mother's love
all around and even fills within you,
but with other intentions.
Suffocation keeps you from saying
saying everything you need to.
I only speak of this, all of this
because of you, all of you.
A smile in a spring breeze
and nap in the warm sun,
that's all it takes to make you run
away from my mind.

"Suicide is bittersweet"...I read this line and the first thing I think is... how so?

Then I continue to read your poem and suddenly that first line makes all the sense in the world. The way you have taken suicide and the ways to do it and given it a good side...a lighter side...is phenomenal. People do not usually think of suicide being anything but negative...yet, here, you've taken that stigma and placed it in the light. It's the release that people forget...and often don't realize...that people seek. To get away from it all. To no longer feel pain. To no longer hurt.

Then the last few lines...wow. The beauty in the world that can take the darkness away.

This is amazing and very well written. Fantastic job!

This is just an older piece from years ago. Randomly came across it and thought I'd share.
