In a darkened room glow patchwork stars upon a ceiling short of paint,
whilst one by one, they lose their glow - their voices, oh so faint.
Said one to the other, "share my light, lest The Dark call you her home.
Come now, come, and don't be shy, we two are now alone".
So light was shared, yet darkness dared to close in ever more.
Thus is the similitude to our never-ending wars.
A short but compelling poem rich in depth. There were so many good poems this week but this one spoke to me the most. Creative use of imagery and language with an unexpected powerful ending. The light is indeed fading as we are all caught up in these never ending conflicts.
