You were right

by Beautiful Tragedy   Sep 17, 2017

Today is the day.
My stomach twists in anticipation
And my palms are beginning to sweat,
I'm nervous and excited all at once.
I've been counting down to this day for months now,
Trying- and failing miserably at patiently waiting until I get to see you again.
Checking to make sure I have your birthday card before I leave
I lock the door and get into my taxi;
My stomach in an overly excited and knotty mess.
I can't freaking wait to see you,
And even more than that I can't wait to be in your arms.
Or see you smile.
Months ago you'd told me that
How I felt about you was a mix of loving who you are and being in love with you and I-
To afraid to admit it just smiled.
It's amazing that you always know how I'm feeling sometimes
Even before I myself know.
But now that I get to see you I might as well admit that
You were completely right..
You almost always are.

I could almost feel the anticipation from here. A really well expressed piece.

    Take care,
