Wow Michael, this is brilliant, with such clever dual use of the word 'stage' ... and it really resonates!
It reminds me of having counselling, putting myself under the 'spotlight' and finding things out about myself that lead to changes. But sometimes, people like the weaker version and don't like it when you gain strength - as you've said, by changing the script of yourself, you don't fit into the role they have for you any more, and so you're cast out.
It's great that you're your own lead role now. I really get how much work it takes to get there and I'm full of admiration x
