I Am Free

by Rhinehalt   Dec 22, 2017

The chilled breeze bends around quiet road,
The taste of coming snow in the air,
Is a welcoming feel in this silent stillness.
In a mist of it all, a tone enters my wandering mind,
Movement can be seen if one is to peek out of their home.
No care to the cold, I take measure steps, letting out a laugh.
This is my world, with all tucked in their warming sheets,
Here I dance, with wings unseen,
Smile and turn with finger tips tilting to the stars.
My gaze catches the sky,
I breathe, I release,
And the warmth escapes.
My eyes close.
And I am free.

I can't even find the words I'm searching for here...but this write...is...everything. I often find myself stepping out into the welcoming embrace of cold, late nights...and my wings wish to unfurl, too.

    Love it!

Oh thank you so much. Sorry haven't been around for awhile.

I remember writing this, was staying with my uncle at that time. Was my first time home in 30 years and first winter.
