A conversation with the moon

by Ya----Na   Aug 7, 2018

I had a conversation with the moon
last night.
It was jealous; I forgot him
ever since she has come in sight.

I told him,
"love is blind, open your eyes and see."
Oh moon, your world is black and white!
In her smile, I have found true colors of glee.

Life isn't the empty cup anymore;
my soul has come to its home.
In her eyes, I have seen the universe;
now my words are not alone.

My dreams have turned into reality;
I have fallen for her too deep.
Forgive me, my dear;
someone's waiting, and I need to sleep.

Always remember, you were special to me
since from my birth.
No need left for me to look at the sky,
as long as she stays with me on earth.

    This was very beautiful and..to give up the moon (that is guaranteed to be there for you) must mean that someone special has come into your life...how nice :)

    A question for you...

    It was jealous; I forgot him

    you use it and him in the same sentence when you refer to the moon...is there a reason for this??

      Hey, hi, Hellon. Thanks for the nomination
      Reason?
      I always think of moon as feminine. I used 'it' because I wanted to address that special one as she and 'him' because 'him' can be use for he/she as third person,plus I didn't want to repeat the word 'it' again in the same stanza.

      Or much better reason should be that my grammar is too bad, isn't it?

    Beautiful.
    I love this whole discussion with the moon. As if it really talks. How powerful nature really is.
    The fact you called the moon "him" and "my dear" was sweet.
    Beautiful poem.
