You’re Born to Hit the Wall

You’re Born to Hit the Wall

Stages of you,
evolving forever,
changing in real time.

The ten-year-old you
and the seventy-year-old you
are only related by your birth.

You do not think the same.
You don’t look the same.

When this collage of personalities
reaches your autobiography,
you have a story to tell.

Life’s never done until it’s done.
That’s a rule that cannot bend.
The speed of light is an absolute—
the same applies to you.

This life form that is you
is a once-off, no exceptions.

This is validated from the first second
after you’re born.

You are a once-off creation,
no possible duplicates.

Your DNA, your fingerprints,
your face belong to you only.

Your mind is you;
the brain and the body
are your tools to manage.
