This is about how when you meet or see somone who you consider to be for whatever reason, less fortunate than you, it can and should make you appreciate the good things in your life.

Actually, I think that was well-expressed by the poem itself, Kevin. There's a dignity in the rhyme scheme (and the message) that lends an almost axiomatic aspect to the poem. I very much enjoy this.

interesting and very creative. i like the meaning behind this of appreciation for ones self, the things we forget to be thankful for. I thought it was quite interesting how the single I in the poem stood out...why did you decide to write it like that...just curious?
