Another Suicide Attempt

If only Danny knew
What she’s done to us all
She’ll understand the mistake
Of taking her last fall

She left her little sister
With a broken, shattered heart
And all the little pieces
Are tearing her apart

“She’s my role model”
I hear her sister say
She wants to be like Danny
Until her dying day

And Danny’s little sister
Decided that day was here
She attempted suicide
So Danny can be near

I say to Danny’s sister
“Please don’t end up this way”
But little Stephanie doesn’t care
She wanted to die that day

And now Stephanie is like her sister
As she cuts with Danny’s blade
She wants to make the same mistake
That Danny had once made

And the pressure is so much
Of having to save her life
Trying to prevent her
From being addicted to the knife

I’m trying to make her stop
Her habit of self-harm
But I’m such a bad influence
When she’s seen the cuts on my arm

I wish I can make her understand
That she’s like a sister of my own
And if she ever goes away
I’ll be left here, so alone

It hurts my heart to see
The tears from Stephanie’s eyes
It hurts my heart to know
That she sits in her room and cries

I wish that I can take away
Her thoughts of suicide
I don’t want to feel the same
As I did when Danny died

A sweet, innocent little girl
Attempted suicide at the age of twelve
Following in her sister’s footsteps
And the footsteps from myself

I’ve already lost Danielle
And my hope and faith is gone
And if I lose Stephanie
I know I won’t be holding on

People have told me times before
That suicide is wrong
But with Stephanie and Danny gone
It’s impossible to be strong

Little Stephanie must understand
She must stay here by side
That all her problem’s won’t be solved
When she commits suicide
