Saved By Grace (improved version)

by Anne Conner   Jul 3, 2005

~this poem is a corrected version of my old poem "Saved By Grace"~

I lived in a dungeon full of chains,
In a world where it always rains
My heart was full of guilt and shame
As I looked for ways to ease my pain
But there was no way I could find
That would ease my troubled mind
Then the Holy Lamb came,
And I looked for someone else to blame
How could he accept such a sinner?
You’d think all he’d want would be winners
Still I looked to him for grace
And tears quietly streamed down my face
I couldn’t live without giving Him my trust
It wasn’t a maybe, it was a must
My life was so incomplete
Without Him I would never sleep
I was no longer against Him hard
I had to ask him into my heart
In His arms I will forever rest
Even when trials come and test
I'll always believe no matter the cost,
And witness and pray for all the lost.
No one can pull me away from my God
Because with him I’ll always be loved

Great job! I love your poems, they're so true. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't found God and my church family again. We are truly saved by His Grace. Thanks for such inspirational poetry!!!
