The Changing of the Seasons

by Anne Conner   Jul 3, 2005

~this is an improved version of my “Three Season Change”
which was a poetry disaster. lol~

One quiet, dreary day
While all the birds quieted their call
Winter pushed autumn away
And a snowy drift began to fall
Then one day
That was much the same
Spring began to lift its ray.
And soon brought the thunder and the rain
But a summer beauty suddenly came
And all the flowers began to return
It wasn’t long then she took her claim
And her sun again shone.
Summer’s beauty could not stay
A fall would come to take her place
Driving her far away
Until again she could show her face
Another year, another season,
Another winter will come soon
Spring will come with its reason
To prepare for summer’s hot noons

A perfectly painted picture of the seasons. Very well done~ If only summer could stay! I wouldn't mind doing away with winter. The winters in Ohio are not fun. I don't like to drive in the winter or even leave the house for that matter. It's so cold and the roads scare me! Take Care! Brooke~
