Darkness among other things

by Rachel Moore   Jul 27, 2005

A cherry tree, looms in the moonlight
a folded figure at it's base
her dry eyes shine beneath her hair
enhanced, the beauty of her face

her shivers echo in the darkness
trembling her silky skin
trying to prove to herself
that she can hide the pain within

but still, she cannot raise her eyes
frightened of uncertainty
she barely holds herself together
at the thought of her new enemy

she tries to stop from wondering,
what his ghastly features hold
she knows having to ponder this,
is what makes her blood run cold

she know she has to take her fate
her head lifts, to face the sight
her body stiffens with the fact,
that nothings gonna be alright
